Options

Full wrap, partial wrap or lettering?

For a service business, the truck is often the most-seen sign you own. It sits in driveways, job sites and parking lots all day. There are three ways to put your brand on it:

OptionWhat it coversWhen it fits
Vinyl letteringCompany name, phone number, website, license or DOT numbersSmaller budgets, mixed fleets, vehicles that change often
Partial wrapPrinted graphics on part of the vehicle, plus letteringA strong look that works with the paint color
Full wrapPrinted vinyl over the painted surfacesBrand-forward fleets and vehicles kept for several years

Not sure which fits? Send photos of the vehicle and tell us what you want people to remember. That usually settles it.

Our work

What does a wrap look like on the road?

Partial vehicle wrap on a commercial van in Charleston, SC by Imperial Sign Crafters

This commercial van carries a partial wrap: printed graphics over part of the body, with the paint color left as part of the design. It is a common choice for service companies that want a strong look without covering the whole vehicle.

More work is in our project gallery.

Fleets

How do you wrap a fleet?

A fleet is a design problem before it is an install problem. The layout has to work on every vehicle you run, from a small van to a box truck, and still look like one company.

  • List the vehicles. Year, make and model for each, plus photos of every side.
  • Decide what has to be on every vehicle. Name, phone, website, and any license or DOT numbers.
  • Design once. One layout adapted to each body style, so new vehicles match.
  • Schedule in batches. So you are not taking every truck off the road at once.

Owner Matt Harris did fleet wrap and large fabrication work earlier in his 30+ years in the sign industry, before founding Imperial Sign Crafters in 2017.

Cost

What does a vehicle wrap cost?

It depends on the vehicle and how much of it you cover. The drivers:

  • Vehicle size. A compact car and a box truck are very different amounts of material and labor.
  • Coverage. Lettering, partial wrap or full wrap.
  • Design. Simple branding versus detailed printed graphics.
  • Quantity. Fleets are planned and quoted as one job.

Send the year, make and model and photos of each side, and we will quote it in writing. All work is warrantied.

Wrap care

Hand wash when you can, keep pressure washers away from edges and seams, and clean off bird droppings, sap and fuel spills soon. Lowcountry sun is hard on any finish, so shade helps.

Service area

Where do we install vehicle wraps?

Our shop is at 709 Miles Jamison Rd, Suite 2, Summerville, SC 29485, and we work across the Charleston metro: Summerville, Charleston, North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Goose Creek, Ladson, Hanahan, Moncks Corner, Johns Island, James Island, Daniel Island, West Ashley. Our Summerville shop is a short drive from North Charleston, Ladson and Goose Creek, which makes scheduling fleet vehicles simpler.

Who approves a sign depends on the parcel, not the mailing address. Our guide to business sign permits in Summerville covers how the Town reviews signs, and each location page covers that area's city or county process.

Experience

Who designs your wrap?

Owner Matt Harris has more than 30 years in the sign industry, including production and design lead work at Signs Now in New York on national accounts such as Prudential, Exxon and BP, and fleet wrap and large fabrication work before that. He appeared on Shark Tank in 2015 with a product he invented and patented, and founded Imperial Sign Crafters in 2017. All work is warrantied. More about Matt.

FAQ

Vehicle wrap questions

Do you do full wraps, partial wraps and lettering?

Yes. We design and install full wraps, partial wraps and custom vinyl lettering for cars, trucks, vans, trailers and fleet vehicles across the Charleston area.

Which is better, a full wrap or a partial wrap?

It depends on the goal and the budget. A full wrap covers the painted surfaces and changes the look of the vehicle. A partial wrap prints graphics on part of the vehicle and uses the paint color as part of the design. Lettering covers the essentials, like your name, phone number and license or DOT numbers, for the least cost.

How much does a vehicle wrap cost?

It depends on the vehicle size, how much of it is covered, the complexity of the design and how many vehicles are in the job. Send the year, make and model and photos of each side and we will quote it in writing.

Can you wrap our whole fleet?

Yes. Tell us how many vehicles and which models up front, so one layout works across all of them and stays consistent as you add trucks. Matt Harris worked on fleet wraps for years before founding Imperial Sign Crafters.

How do I take care of a wrap?

Hand wash it, avoid pressure washing close to edges and seams, and clean off bird droppings, sap and fuel spills soon. Sun is hard on any vehicle finish, so parking in shade when you can helps a wrap last.

Can a wrap be removed later?

Yes. Wraps are applied over the factory paint and can be removed when you sell or replace the vehicle. Paint that is already damaged or repainted can be affected, so tell us about any paintwork before we start.
